Vodka Jelly Shots
A tray of vodka jelly shots (or vodka jello shots if you prefer) will always go down a treat at any party. There is something inherently fun about all aspects of the wobbly, boozy treat. It's jelly for a start, which tastes great, it has vodka in it and the amusement factor of both attempting to suck out the contents of a plastic shot glass and watch others do the same is highly amusing. It maybe slightly juvenile but that makes it all the more snigger-worthy!
Recipe for Tri-Color Vodka Jelly Shots
Yield: One 135g pack of Jelly produces 600ml of liquid. This equates to 24 UK or 20 US shots not taking into account any spillage that may (will) occur.
Ingredients:
- 45g each of strawberry jelly, lime jelly and lemon jelly
- 150ml vodka
- 150ml boiling water
- 200ml water (slightly more than needed)
- Shot glasses to pour the mixture into. Plastic shot glasses work best.
Instructions:
- Set up the shot glasses on a tray or in a container that can be easily transferred into the fridge.
- Break up the jelly and dissolve it in 150ml boiling water.
- Add the vodka
- Add the cold water to make the total contents up to 600ml.
- Pour carefully into each shot glass so that each one is 1/3 full.
- Place the shots into the fridge for about an hour or so to firm up (will set quicker in the freezer).
- Repeat the process using the second colour.
- And the third colour.
- Place in the fridge for another hour or so and they should be ready to go!
