Russian Standard is clean, perfectly clear and smooth. Although a premium brand it can often be found on the supermarket shelf with an offer sticker, making it all the more appealing!

It is hard to believe that Russian Standard has only been around since 2007 in the UK. From its first launch it exploded onto the market and firmly positioned itself as a leading premium brand vodka. The brand originally created in 1998 by the Russian Standard company purports itself as being proudly Russian through and through: raw Russian materials as well as distilled and bottled in Russia. Within Russia it has a 40% market share selling more than 3 million cases per year.

Currently a repertoire consisting of the Original, the Gold, the Platinum, and the Imperia, look out for the release of Russian Standard flavours as the owner, Roustam Tariko, has declared war on Smirnoff’s rather large slice of the pie.

  • Lab Soho

    Lab Stoli

Lab Soho is a lively, friendly cocktail bar with an edge of sticky about the place like it needs a good clean. You could argue that this adds to the character and appeal depending on what you look for in a bar. The cocktail range is vast and they taste fairly decent too but be prepared to wait if it’s busy and potentially then be faced with a glass full of crushed ice.

    What is Vodka Made From?

Vodka has been sipped, downed and applied across the globe for centuries. Originating in Eastern Europe towards the end of the 9th century the name is derived from the Russian word ‘voda’ meaning water. It was primarily used for medicinal purposes and as an ingredient in gun powder during the Middle Ages but during the 14th century became an established drink in Russia and by the middle of the 16th century was recognised as the national drink of Poland and Finland. But what is vodka made from?
